Go Surfing and live the dream

Walk to the Byron Bay lighthouse

Byron is categorised by the postcard perfect views of its active lighthouse. Take a walk up to it at sunrise or sunset for the best views, as Byron is the first place in Australia the morning sun hits. The walk up is just as picturesque as the views from the top, see some of Byron’s more underrated, quieter beaches along the way.

Dance on the beer soaked tables at Cheeky Monkeys, or to Reggae at the Beach Hotel with other backpackers. There are several bustling bars and clubs in Byron, as well as a silent disco on the main beach every other day, meaning there is plenty to do in the evenings!

Go Skydiving

Byron is one of the best places in Australia to do your sky dive, with views over the coastline. Tick it off your bucket list!

Visit Nimbin

Visit the world famous hippy village an hour out of Byron. There are several popular tours operating everyday which take you to Nimbin and the surrounding waterfalls.

Go Sea Kayaking

There are several Sea Kayaking tours which operate in the bay. These take you to the best spots to see Dolphins, turtles and (in the winter) Wales. Get up close and watch the dolphins ride the waves around you.

Take a look around the town centre

With unique boutique shops and cute cafes to brunch at, Byron town centre is bustling with tourists and buskers. With focus around healthy and organic eating, there are lots of eateries to suit every taste.

Sunbathe at Main Beach

Byron Bay’s main beach is having from dawn until dusk, bustling with yoga classes, surfers, fire dancers and guitar players. The Pass is also a stunning beach, a 10 minute walk from the town centre.

Arakwal National Park

Arakwal national park is a secluded and peaceful beach retreat, perfect if you are looking to sunbathe in peace. Depending on the time of year, you can spot wales and dolphins. Main Beach, Byron Bay

Diving at the Julian Rocks Aquatic Reserve

Byron Bay is one of the most popular diving spots in Australia. You will find mantas, sea turtles, fish (including reef sharks) and beautiful coloured coral in Byron’s protected reef zone.
