Mojosurf Camp Ericeira is a surf hostel near the centre of Ericeira, about 45 minutes from Lisbon by car. Stay 3 to 8 days on the Surf & Stay Ericeira with daily surf lessons at Matadouro Beach, yoga, daily breakfast, an outdoor pool and a skate ramp. Ericeira’s coastline was Europe’s first World Surfing Reserve, and the town draws surfers, adventurers and digital nomads.
Mojosurf Camp Ericeira has an outdoor swimming pool for cooling off after a surf and a skateboard ramp for practising your tricks. Travelling with your crew and a four-legged friend? It is a pet-friendly Ericeira hostel, so pets are welcome too. Bring your friends and get ready for some great days on the waves.

Our Ericeira surf camp suits surfers of every level, whether you’re standing up for the first time or refining your technique. It draws adventurers, surf lovers and digital nomads looking for a mix of work and play. Bring your crew, and since it’s a pet-friendly hostel, your four-legged friends are welcome too. The Surf & Stay has no fixed arrival days and a small group size, so it works for anyone who wants flexibility and progression.

Beginners: Foz do Lizandro, a sandy beach break at a river mouth about five minutes south of town, and São Julião, a long beach break about ten minutes’ drive south.
Beginner to intermediate: Matadouro, an A-frame over reef and sand within walking distance of town, best from mid to high tide, and Praia dos Pescadores, the sheltered fishermen’s beach in the middle of town, which works at high tide.
Intermediate and up: Ribeira d’Ilhas, the famous right-hand point about 3 km north of town, with a rocky entry and exit.
Experts only: Coxos, a powerful right-hand reef and the best-known wave in the World Surfing Reserve.

Lessons are run by our trusted local partner, Surf 365 Ericeira, at Matadouro Beach, where the consistent waves cater to beginners and advanced surfers alike. All the equipment you need is provided, and there is pick-up and drop-off from the hostel. You need to be able to swim 50 metres unaided to join a lesson.
The Surf & Stay Ericeira package runs for 3 to 8 days and includes:
Accommodation: a bed in a 10 bed shared en-suite dorm (female dorms, private double rooms and more options are available on request).
Surf and coaching: daily surf lessons (3 days: 2 lessons, 4 days: 3 lessons, 5 days: 4 lessons, 6 days: 5 lessons, 7 days: 6 lessons, 8 days: 7 lessons) and surf equipment during your lessons.
Wellness: yoga sessions (1 session for 3 to 5 day stays, 2 sessions for 6 to 8 day stays).
Meals and social: daily breakfast, a welcome drink, a free BBQ night every Wednesday and a sunset party every Friday at a local surf shop.
Lunch and dinner are not included. Transport to and from the camp is not included either, but it is available on request.
Getting here from Lisbon: Ericeira is about 45 minutes from Lisbon by car on the A8, or about an hour to an hour and a half by bus from Campo Grande. From Ericeira bus station, the hostel is 1 to 2 km away: a short taxi ride or about a 20 minute walk.

By car, taxi or transfer, Ericeira is about 45 minutes from Lisbon on the A8. By public transport, take the metro red line from the airport, change to the green line at Alameda and ride to Campo Grande, then take the bus to Ericeira, which takes about an hour to an hour and a half (Carris Metropolitana 2740 runs all week and 2801 on weekday peaks). From Ericeira bus station, the hostel is 1 to 2 km away: a short taxi ride or about a 20 minute walk. Transport to and from the camp is not included but is available on request. Check the operator for current times and fares before you travel.
Any day. The Surf & Stay Ericeira has no fixed arrival days, and you can stay for 3 to 8 days. Check-out is at 11am on your last day.
