Portugal Surf Camp FAQs

Where are Mojosurf’s surf camps in Portugal?

There are two camps on Portugal’s west coast: the Ericeira surf camp, in a World Surfing Reserve, and the Peniche surf camp in Baleal, about ten minutes from Peniche.

Are the camps suitable for beginners?

Yes. In Ericeira, Matadouro Beach has consistent waves that cater to all levels. In Peniche, lessons cover everyone from complete beginners to advanced surfers, with each session matched to your level.

Who runs the surf lessons?

In Ericeira, lessons are run by our local partner, Surf 365 Ericeira, with equipment provided and pick-up and drop-off from the hostel. In Peniche, lessons are run by a local surf school based inside the hostel, a five-minute walk from the beach.

What facilities do the camps have?

Ericeira has an outdoor swimming pool and a skateboard ramp and is pet-friendly. Peniche has dorms and private rooms, an on-site restaurant, a cinema room, a gym and a co-working space.
