Whether you’re travelling solo, with a group, or bringing the family, you’ll feel at home at Mojosurf Camp Peniche. The camp sits right in Baleal, a relaxed beachside surf town about ten minutes from Peniche. You’ll stay in a social surf hostel a short walk from Baleal Beach, with a mix of dorms and private rooms, an on-site restaurant, a cinema room and a gym. The beach, bars and local restaurants are all within easy reach.
Your trip includes surf lessons with a trusted local surf school, based right inside the hostel, so you simply head downstairs to get started. The beach is only a five-minute walk away. Lessons cover everyone from complete beginners to advanced surfers, with all the gear provided and each session matched to your level. The instructors know this coast well and choose the best spot for the day’s conditions, so you make the most of the waves around Baleal.
You can round out your time in the water with yoga at the hostel. The classes build strength and flexibility and help you switch off, whether you’ve practised for years or you’re rolling out a mat for the first time. If you want to do more, you can add surfskate lessons on SmoothStar boards to work on your balance and technique on dry land, or just grab a regular skate and have some fun on four wheels.
If you need to get some work done while you’re here, there’s an on-site co-working space a few steps from your room, with fast Wi-Fi and proper desks. It suits remote workers and digital nomads who want to fit in a surf before breakfast, put in a few hours during the day, and still make it down to the beach for sunset.
A short boat ride away, the Nature Reserve on the Island of Berlengas offers crystal-clear waters perfect for diving and exploring marine life. The island’s mysterious allure, combined with tales of sunken vessels, adds to its charm.
