Top 10 things to do in The Gold Coast

Gold Coast

The Gold coast is best known for its theme parks, beaches and rainforests. But Queenslands second-biggest-city has way more to offer and is a great place to spend a holiday. Here is some inspiration!

  1. Explore the beaches

Bring your surfboard and head to Palm Beach, Kirra, Main Beach or Mermaid Beach. We also recommend you visit Surfers Paradise, a tourist hub and beachside suburb!

  1. Visit the national parks

A few of our favourites are Springbrook National Park, Hinze Dam and Burleigh Head National Park. Enjoy a hike through the undergrowth, and cool off at the waterfalls.

  1. See some native wildlife

See Australia’s unique wildlife up close at the Zoo or wildlife sanctury. A few popular ones are Currumbin sanctury and Fleay Zoo.

  1. Theme Parks

Gold Coast is famous for its theme parks. The most popular ones are Sea World, Warner Bros. Movie World, Dreamworld and Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast.

  1. Visit the markets

Grab some street food, buy some souveniers and get a massage at the markets. Some great ones are the village markets, Surfers Paradise beachfront markets and the Marketta Street Food markets.

  1. Go to a museum

Visit Queensland’s only surfing museum, Surf World. It shows the surf history from the 1930’s until today, worth visiting if you are passionate about surfing.

  1. Watch the sunrise or sunset

Crack open a beer and watch the sunset from one of Gold Coasts gorgeous beaches.

  1. Waterfalls

Here are a list of our favourites:

  • Natural Bridge: Visit the Numinbah Valley to see this one, if you wait until the sun goes down you can see glow worms as well!
  • Combine waterfalls with watching the sunset at Morgan Falls. It is a great place to sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful view.
  • If you feel like doing a work out, take a long hike to the Chalahn Falls. The circuit is 17.4 km long so not for the faint hearted

  1. Shop till you drop

On a rainy day visit the Paradise Centre in Surfers Paradise for some shopping. Find great swimwear outlets and cheap eats.

  1. Play golf

With over 30 golf courses, there is something for all golfing abilities on the Gold Coast!
