8 Must See East Coast Rad-ventures

The East Coast of Australia is a pilgrimage for adventure travellers, offering once in a lifetime travel experiences, we’ve done the research and compiled a bucket list of destinations, that must be on your itinerary. Some have global recognition like the Great Barrier Reef, but we’ve got some off the beaten track experiences as well!

MUST SEE EAST COAST AUSTRALIA ADVENTURE

1. Bondi to Coogee Walk, Sydney

A local “fav” this walk weaves from ocean headlands to the sandy shores of Bronte Beach, 6km later descending to the famous seaside town of Bondi Beach.

2. Spot X Surf Camp – The ultimate beachfront surf camp in Australia

565km north of Bondi Beach is Australia’s best-kept secret, Spot X Surf Camp. Located in a National Marine Park, Spot X surf camp is the ultimate travel adventure, whether you love surfing or not.

Enjoy uninterrupted views of the ocean where you can live the ultimate surfside lifestyle. Wake up with yoga, kayak the river, learn to surf and go to sleep with the sounds of the ocean.

Stay overnight or stay for 3 months, Spot-X has an adventure waiting for you!

3. Nimbin Byron Bay

Inland from Byron Bay is a sleepy village town, known for its sense of freedom, art, hemp and alternative lifestyle. Nimbin shot to fame in 1973 when it hosted the Aquarius Festival, a few intrepid souls stayed and sowed the seeds for the vibrant sustainable community that exists today. A truly off the beaten track Aussie experience you must have on your bucket list.

4. Surf & Stay Byron Bay

Byron Bay is a chilled surf town with an artistic vibe & buskers who line the street. Learn to surf, explore with your travel mates – and keep your eyes peeled for our famous locals. You might see Chris Hemsworth, Matt Damon, Isabell Lucas or Angus Stone walking the streets or in the surf. A Mojosurf experience will dive deep into the DNA of Byron Bay with bush tucker workshops, bracelet making or learn to surf with the OG surf school in town!

5. Sky Dive Byron

We’re a bit Byron biased, but that’s only because Byron has everything to offer. From the surf to hiking and waterfalls, you can even jump out of an aeroplane from 15,000 feet. Experience the thrill of free falling with views that stretch to the Gold Coast, Sky Dive Byron is the most easterly skydive in the country.

6. The Gold Coast

An hour and a bit north of Byron Bay, you’ll find yourself on a stretch of coast, known as the Gold Coast. Considered by many Australia’s answer to Las Vegas, you’ll find the ocean meet glammed up nightlife and sky high skyscrapers. If you’re into theme parks, the GC must be on your bucket list, with Dreamworld, Movie World & Wet’n’Wild all located in the region.

7. Fraser Island

World Heritage listed Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world and the only place on the planet where the rainforest grows from the sand. A stunning tapestry of natures wonders the iconic Fraser Island is a must see rad-adventure. You’ll see wild dingos, shipwrecks, the awe-inspiring beauty of Lake McKenzie – the perched lake, only contains rainwater, no groundwater and has no inbound flows, so it is pure bliss.

8. See a Koala in the Wild on Magnetic Island

Off the shore of Townsville is a laid-back Queensland town called Magnetic Island. One of the best places where you can see a Koala in the wild. The Fort Walk, Horseshoe Bay is the best vantage spot to see this close encounter with our furry friend. If you love all things cute and cuddly, head over the Geoffrey’s Bay to feed the wallabies and learn about the significant military history of the Ise as you travel this quaint Island town.
